Course Description

An interdisciplinary analysis of the biological, social and psychological aspects of communicable diseases and their relationship with substance use, abuse, and addiction. Specific topics include HIV/AIDS, STDs, hepatitis, and disease progression. Emphasis will be placed on myths versus realities. Risk assessment, risk reduction, psychological interventions, medical management and legal issues are included.
