Degree: Certificate
Plan 23TQ

This certificate is created for students pursuing an entry-level position in digital media and especially social media marketing. It is the first of a series of two certificates that prepare students to become social media-savvy visual designers, writers, and/or content producers for marketing and digital media. This certificate lays the groundwork with its coverage of digital media fundamentals, social media marketing essentials, and writing for digital media. It surveys digital media concepts, design principles and production processes, industry-leading tools and apps, and industry developments and trends. It enables students to look at social media platforms and content critically by examining it in its historical, cultural, political, and business context. Students practice integrating social media into a business marketing/engagement strategy through a required internship.
