CNC Programming Technician CertificateEngineering, Math and Physical Sciences Division, Room T302, (847) 543-2044www.clcillinois.edu/programs/cnc The CNC Programming Technician Certificate prepares students for employment or advancement as a CNC Programming technician in the manufacturing industry. The program provides applied skills in process planning, quality control, set-up and operation of manual/Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines for current and future needs of the manufacturing industry. The courses in this certificate introduces students to manual data programming and Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), CNC Machine Tool programming, set-up and operation and precision measuring devices including a Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Special emphasis will be placed on learning the skills necessary to transform raw material into a finished part and students will be able to apply the techniques learned in a machine shop setting. Overall this certificate is intended to introduce students to many different aspects of programming within a machine shop setting. Machinists already employed will find the certificate a great way to improve their skill set to advance to the programming level. The Precision Machining Technology program is accredited by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) and national credentialing is available. Upon completion of certain courses, students will be prepared to take credentialing exams for an additional fee. Recommended Plan of Study

^ The credit for CLC 120, College Success Seminar, is an institutional requirement for graduation. It is not part of the program requirements but must be completed with a D or better.
