Course Description

This course explores the theoretical foundations of the individual and institutional oppression of underrepresented groups. The course provides an analysis of classic and contemporary feminist theories from a multidisciplinary, social science perspective. It introduces students to prominent feminist scholars within the social sciences and discusses the feminist movement as the basis for social policy and social activism.
